When you're setup with both sites you can start figuring out which starting pitchers you will want to use to anchor your team. Just like in daily fantasy baseball, your team will live and die by picking the best pitcher of the night for your FanDuel lineup. In cash games you can get away with a pitcher that has just an average start but if you are going to take down a GPP like DraftKings Moonshot then you will probably need to pick the best pitcher.

Below are the best pitchers in fantasy baseball for 2017 and any night they are pitching you will want to try to build your lineup around them but you need to take in a few factors as well:

Are they pitching in a pitcher friendly or hitter friendly park?

Are they facing a weak hitting lineup?

Is weather a factor that night?

Will the team most likely win resulting in a W for your pitcher?

Is there enough value in his salary cap price to pick him?

These are things that fantasy baseball experts look at when making a lineup to improve the chances that the pitcher will be the best fantasy pick of the night. They also look for pitchers that are consistent strikeout pitchers and have a solid team behind that that will get them a win at the end of the night. We cover many of these and other strategies on picking a daily fantasy pitcher here Top Daily Fantasy Baseball Pitchers

Top 2017 Starting Pitchers for your DraftKings and FanDuel Lineups

Los Angeles DodgersClayton Kershaw 12-4, 1.69 ERA, 172 K’s

Missed 2 months of the season with injury but when he did pitch he was money! Will probably the most expensive pitcher every time out at FanDuel so pick your spots where you use him.

Boston RedsoxChris Sale 17-10, 3.34 ERA, 233 K’s

Was a big piece moved during the offseason and now will make Fenway park his home. He will still get the strikeouts in the A.L. East but the wall in Fenway could be a factor in his ERA numbers in home games.

Washington NationalsMax Scherzer 20-7, 2.96 ERA, 284 K’s

Another fabulous year by Scherzer netted him another Cy Young award. Tons of K’s when he starts with a solid team to get him the W.

San Francisco GiantsMadison Bumgarner 15-9, 2.74 ERA, 251 K’s

Another N.L pitcher to look at in your lineups, he keeps the scoring low and gets you the K’s. 15 wins last year should improve in 2017.

New York MetsNoah Syndergaard 14-9, 2.60 ERA, 218 K's

With all the big name N.L. pitchers it’s easy to forget about how good Syndergaard actually is. Not sure how many wins the Mets can get him this year but he will usually put up the numbers when he pitchers to have a great chance for the W.

Detroit TigersJustin Verlander 16-9, 3.04 ERA, 254 K’s

Almost seems like he is on a second career with how good he’s been the last 2 years. Lots of strikeouts and low ERA are a recipe for him being a pitcher to look at for your DraftKings lineups.

Texas RangersYu Darvish 7-5, 3.41 ERA, 132 K’s

Returned from injury in 2015 to post good numbers in 2016. Look for him to be back to the strikeout machine that he is in 2017.

Cleveland IndiansCorey Kluber 18-9, 3.14 ERA, 227 K’s

Kluber has been super the last 3 years and really consistent in his numbers. The Indians will be making another run at the postseason so look for Kluber to be big in all of his outings.

Tampa Bay RaysChris Archer 9-19, 4.02 ERA, 233 K's

Should be a FanDuel and DraftKings Sleeper pick to begin the year as his overall numbers last year weren’t very good. His second half were more what we expect from Archer so I like him again to be a solid daily fantasy option

Washington NationalsStephen Strasburg 15-4, 3.60 ERA, 183 K’s

Was pitching in Cy Young form and then the second half started to unravel and eventually mad time of with injury. He has some stinker outings but he also has some stellar ones.
